*Marsha’s Place refers to the prominent LGBTQ+2S rights activist Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman who participated in the Stonewall riots in 1969, and she was co-founder of S.T.A.R. (Street Transgender Action Revolutionaries), a political collective that provided support and housing for LGBTQ+ houseless youth.
